There is always a 'better' plug! ;)

A finer wire plug is generally a good choice..sez me. The sharper edge the spark has to jump off of, the better off you are.

No reason an ES plug won't work fine if you're jetted right...but my preference is an EG. Not as fine a wire as the iridium or EVX plug...but it works just fine.

Still an '8', though.

I keep wanting better performance from an EG but can't honestly document it.
I've had the same ES in for about 10 - 20 mile rides in rocks and the woods with plenty of crashing; it never fouls and starts on the 1 or 2nd kick (unless I leave it upside down for too long)
