I shot some video of the Heartland Spodes this weekend. I need someone to walk me through posting these. Is special software or downloads needed? Do I need to post them on a seperate web page first? I'm really interested in doing this? Be patient as I am not really for sure where to begin.:think

I would love to help, but I just learned how to post a picture last week :silly: ,
that only took me a year, so maybe in two years I can help ;) .

-Upload them to a web site.
-Copy the complete address to the file(s)
-Post a thread here on DRN.
-See the http:// button directly above the Your Reply box (i.e. this box) when your posting? Click it.
-Type in a description of the video like "Me and Joe" in the first little pop up box and click OK
-Now right click and do a "paste" in the second pop up box and click OK
-Submit Reply

Your done.
:)

Uhhh, how do you upload them to a website, or for that matter quickly get them to your computer?

Depends what it's recorded on. If you can put it on a camcorder that has a firewire output, you can use a firewire card which costs $40 or so then shareware programs to edit and make it a modem friendly download. If you don't have a firewire camcorder or vcr you need an analog video capture card - decent ones are expensive, or if low quality is acceptable, I think there's a usb thing you can buy for under $50 which will capture analog video.

Re uploading, free space to upload stuff is plentiful, but most free places (eg geocities/yahoo) have file size limits of 500k or less despite total space limits of 10mb or more, ie useless for video. Of course, you can pay for suitable ftp space too. If you are lucky, you may have access to a work or school ftp and have lots of free space to upload. I wish I was that lucky :).

Flash-fxp is a good program for uploading or downloading from an ftp.

What software/shareware should I use, what site can I get it at. I have a site that I can post almost as much as I want on. I have a firewire. I just need the software.

So Patman I guess I'm at the upload them stage.

BigLou, you don't know how funny that is, last week I was on the phone with Thump while I was deleting one of my announcements, and the site went down right as I hit delete. Thump being the quick thinker he is, went through the roof explaining how I just deleted ALL the posts on the whole site LOL. I fell for it because you coudn't get on the site anymore for like ten minutes! I was in a panic calling Okie in the middle of the night leaving messages telling him I was sorry but I think I just killed the place LOL! Needless to say, Thump is at the very very top of my LIST at this point.
