Got the motor back after porting and new top end. I called Jeff Fredette to order some things and ask a few question's(very nice and helpful, must be the bike that brings out the best in everyone). When I asked him about what piston's he use's he told me that Kawasaki pistion have a problem with cracking. Now I have not ran the motor (waiting for my pipe and can). Should I have the shop put a Wiesco piston in before I go any further?

Yup stock KDX220 pistons are prone to cracking. I'd install a Wiseco especially if you've upped the power.

The factory KDX200 piston is not prone to cracking and is still an excellent choice for 200 owners.
