It will not make a good connection if you don't. The the engine also needs the ground connection. That is the reason that the mounts must be done. I would do all of them.

Yep sand all of them. Also if you didnt put old bolts in the bolt holes, you will have fun reaming out all of the threads. I did this and it wasnt fun! :think Some of them the bolts/screws went in semi easy. Others were just a pain in the butt. A tap and die set comes in handy here.

sand down ALL motor mounting points and ANY places where coils mount/ground. if you dont, you won't have any continuity and you will have no spark at the plug. you will find that sandpaper wont cut it very well. get a grinding bit for a drill or a die grinder. sandpaper will take you all day and half the night just to make a dent in it. also, invest in a tap and die kit. you will need to tap out ALL the holes in the frame just to be able to get any bolts to go in at all.

Hey, treejumper.....didja ever get that busted crankcase on ur YZ fixed yet???

A dremal tool and a grinder bit would work awsome in your situation.

I don't have to clean out holes when I gave it to them I put all old bolts in then the next day I got a bage of bolts back they use special little plugs
I think I will use a wire brush on a drill to do the motor mounts

Lucky you, I wish my shop was that nice to me. :D I had to tap out all of my holes since i didnt put bolts in mine and was too stupid to ask here before having it done. Atleast i got mine done for free which helped make up for the extra time wasted cleaning holes. Got any pics of it?

There's a place somewhere on the east coast that has used dirt bike parts. Did you look into that?

I checked out afew different places and some that Papakeith sent me. No luck. I did find one, but it was almost as much as i have seen a whole bike that year for. I passed on it! I found a place that i can get a brand new side for $250 which i might go with if nothing turns up by february.

wire brush???:) yea...ROIT!! you'll find out that powder coating is HARD!! All a wire brush is gonna do is make that shiney finish dull. You want to remove the coating.....get a grinding bit for a dremel or an air grinder or a drill. That is unless you LIKE spending lots of time and elbow grease and sweat for little gain.
