this probably isnt the right place to post this but does any1 know how i can get a 2000 DT175 going a bit better than it does... any help would be appreciated. carb swap, reeds, airbox?????
All 2-strokes are about the same. Uncover the airbox. Put on a more open / porous air filter. If there is a baffle in the exhaust, removing it would probably help although make it louder. A different pipe and silencer. Better reed valves. Larger carb. only if you want more top end power, but you'll lose a bit of bottom end. Gear down - smaller front sprocket or larger rear sprocket will make it snappier but reduce top speed a bit. You can always send your cylinder and head to a pro for porting, etc. Check out the 1st thread at the top "Every KDX owner should read this". You'll find more there.
