problem with floats

when i start my bike it pours fuel out the overflow tubes out of the carb for a couple seconds. then it stops after the bike starts. so i checked my float level and it looks fine. so then i checked my float needle for wear and it looks fine too. whats going on here.

I see the same thing on my wr 250 2 strokes 1998 despite I replaced de needle valve.

It did to a large extent. Before I replaced the needle valve there was a big spill from the carb bowl overflow when I opened the tank fuel valve, now just a little bit that stops quickly. This is before I start the motor.

do know what carb you have on your wr. is it a keihin pwm 38 mm. does your choke knob also control your idle or do you have an idle screw.

Yes, the choke knob also controls the idle, turning left or right (it sounds click, when adjusting the idle).
