I'm getting my engine back from Eric in the next week or two and I was wondering what the proper procedure was to break in an engine after the top end and bottom end was done? I would ask him, but I don't want to pester him anymore. Plus, I did a search on the subject and came up w/nada, so maybe this will help others besides me. Thanks all.

Type "top-end break-in" (without the quotation marks;) ) for your search and you will get more hits than you could possibly want. As for the bottom end, just take it easy for a couple of rides so the new parts get to know each other, and you will be fine.

Thanks Spanky. I don't suppose that running the engine thru the heating/cooling cycles doesn't count in regards to the advice about the bottom end?

With the bore finish that Eric uses you can run a couple of short heat cycles and pretty much go riding. Just try and keep it out of serious loading situations in the first hour, but you can pretty much ride it normally as long as it's jetted correctly.
