Protaper SE (7/8") too small for my FRP clamp

Hi everyone,
02' KDX 220 - I got a pair of Pro Taper SE CR high bends in the mail yesterday. Got everything taken apart and when I put these bars on the bike they appear to be too small in diameter for the FRP handlebar clamp (the stock clamps also appear too large). There is no gap between the upper and lower clamps! I thought 7/8" was the standard size? This is a bummer since I wanted to go riding tomorrow and I already ripped the grips off my stock bars etc...
I did some searches and saw some things about "cones", am I missing a part? I apologize for my ignorance :bang: . Please help if possible :( .

Ok.... well apparently these things flop around until you tighten the clamp down pretty good. The stock bars have that knurled area in the location of the clamps which make them seem larger. I was a bit panicked that this wasn't going to work. Wonder why the Pro Tapers don't have that Knurled area? Hope they don't slip!
