Well I can slow dance ok I guess. Ok well I suck at that too. Well anyways, how can I go about learning to dance? I'm too embarassed to ask anyone besides behind a keyboard.
Is there any sites explaining how to do so? I've done searchs to find nothing.
Thanks:o :uh:

Punk rock dancing was refered to thrashing I think. Push, shove, hop around and stage dive on top of your buddies;) You had to drink a lot of suds for that activity.

Take it from a musician

I've spent a lot of years on stage looking out at the crowd & one thing I know for sure, most people can't dance. I'm not saying this to poke fun or anything, it's just a fact. Dancing I've heard said is a "vertical expression of a horizontal desire." Now if you want to dance with the same sex I guess that's okay but I don't want to watch if you're a guy:p

Just relax & don't worry about if you're good at it or not, chances are no one even cares. It's all about having a good time. Who knows, you may start a new trend.

On the rare occasion my bassist is asked to dance:p he usually replies "that's why I play music, cause I can't dance." I feel sorry for the guy cause he's a person that can play so many instruments from trombone to GTR, drums, piano, mandolin and of coarse bass. On top of playing well he can sing and work lights at the same time & do it all well. But here is also a guy that took dance lessons with his wife not once but twice and the instructor even told him he can't dance. Go figure!

SLAM DANCE!

There's a really easy old school punk "dance" called the Pogo. You just jump up and down and crash into the people around you. Just remember, pain is GOOD. You are required to mix two parts Vaseline to one part talcum powder and then use it to spike your hair before attempting to Pogo.

"Gobbing" is NOT recommended.

Spent a couple of years working lighting and monitors for bands, and I've got to agree with Jeff Gilbert. Most people can't dance. The ratio is a little bit better for women than men, but a good many women don't have a clue about dancing either.

Find a honey to teach you!

The best dance teacher has got to be your honey. A couple of "dips" and you'll have happy feet!

well I'm in love with a great woman, she loves 6 hours and 33 minutes away from me. She's in Erie Pennsylvania. I'm in love with her and I think she is still in love with me. I wasn't myself and I made a mistake. No cheating happened. Long story. Mark knows. Well anyway! This friday i'm dragging this girl out to a concert of local bands. I told her i can't dance so hopefully she'll drag me out there and teach me! Well thanks guys!
I don't feel too bad now that I know most people don't know how to dance either (thanks Jeff and Papa)

the only way to learn to dance parallels learning to ride a dirtbike. Just hop on & go. Don't be embarrassed about the way you look, don't compare yourself to others... etc. and most improtant- HAVE FUN!!! That's the whole intent anyway! The best dancers I know aren't necessarily the ones who have the best moves, but rather the ones who enjoy it the most. And I know some freaky good dancers, the kind that put the dumbass recite-a-move jokers to shame.

Heck, one of the reasons I got married was so I wouldn't have to dance anymore!

I was a bouncer at the local cowboy bar about ten years ago, and what cracked me up the most were the freaking line dancers! Nobody looked like they were having any fun, they were just doing their damnedest to try and remember when they were supposed to kick, clap, or holler "Whoooo!" It was hilarious!

Those were the days! You know, that is an awful lot to try to remember after all that Southern Comfort.:p That, and the way those pointy toed boots boots killed my feet was enough to cure me of line dancing AND the bottle!:scream: To this day, I get a funny feeling every time I hear Garth Brooks.

You should she me and my friends at dances. It's all guys on the chairs, and all our girls out dancing. Then midway through the dance, they drag us out there unwillingly and try and get us to dance. It usually ends up us just standing out there b/c all of us are too scared to make a fool out of ourselves. I have rhythm and all-I'm a drummer and bassist-I like being in the band more!!! But what's worst is my friend who has absolutely no rhythm or style at all, and he starts to dance, we all kinda stop him quick before he gets laughed off the floor. I wish I could dance though!!!
