PVL ignition, anyone done the change?

I installed a PVL system on a 1985 400wrx to replace a questionable motoplat system.

Here is my problem...will not start at all. If I remove SPARK PLUG WIRE from plug and leave plug in the head and then put another plug in spark plug wire and hold to ground I DO NOT get any spark whatsoever.

BUT if i remove spark plug from head and attach to wire and hold it to ground and kick bike over I get a MAD bright blue spark continuously.
(both plugs are new)
It appears as though I am not getting enough rotor spin because of the compression and this bike doesnt have a compression release. Next try on the agenda is to see if I can push start it.

Anyone hear of a compression release kit that is suitable for this monster? My right leg.knee will much appreciate it!

Sounds like you need to speak to Dane at Penton Imports. I listened to him talk for about 30 minutes on PVL ignitions, and was blown away. The discussion was way over my head, but he seemed to be incredibly knowledgeable on this stuff.
