I guess this question is more for those that have a newer 03-05 YZ 250 with the Vforce 3. But when you put it on and got the bike jetted properly did it seem like the bike became smoother and not as jumpy? I am trying to find out if I am still off on something but it seems like the hit is gone and the powerband is more linear. Is it because the Vforce fill in that hole in the middle of the powerband that makes you feel that hit? It almost feels like the bike is slower and not as jumpy.

After installing the Vforce 3 reeds on my 04 YZ250 I noticed a increase in lowend torque and just a bit in the mid over the stock units...the bike does not seem to bogg down at all now, I did drop the jetting a bit but not due to the reeds as it was already running rich before installing them. The bike still feels a bit jumpy but only due to the no-friction throttle tube this thing has :) Have you checked your jetting afterwards? This bike has always felt like a linear to me. Jeff.

The 05 RM and 05 YZ 250 have a bit of a lean spot right around 1/4 throttle, that can make the bike hit harder. The V-3 has probably richened that area a bit on your YZ. Try leaning your air screw out 1/2 a turn, or remove the reed spacer for a snapier hit. The V-3 is excellent, ive noticed better throttle response and top end over rev, with as good or slightly better bottom power.

If it runs fine at 2.5 out, then leave it. The 05YZ250 std setting is 1 out, but I run it at 1.5. If you feel the need to go past 3.0 out, then the next larger pilot is needed. Normaly I find the V-3 tunes in within a 1/2 a turn from what was running well with the stock reed valve.

05 YZ250 spacer... remove for vforce3 install?

I'm about to install a vforce3 on an 05 YZ250,,, should I leave off the stock aluminum spacer when installing the vforce3? Looks like it would be fine w/o, but I want to be sure before putting it all back together. Thanks!
