I recently got an RM250 that is not running currently, I believe this bike may have had a colorful past but I'm trying to figure out what that may have been (competition bike or wannabe). It has a DG MX nationals exhaust pipe but it appears to be for an 82-83, also the muffler says it is for closed course competition motorcycles only (what should I replace this with?) Also it has Kustom Kraft inscribed on the side of the cylinder. Is there anyway to determine what was done to the engine by kustom kraft? I have no way of contacting the owner that would of had this done. Lastly is the mikuni carb stock? I know that's pretty vague I guess I mean to ask did they come stock with mikuni's. I looked on bike bandit and could see that they had flat slide carbs but I couldn't find the manufacturer. I would just like to know so I can order a rebuild kit for it.

Thanks,

Bryce

best bet to open the clutch/crankcase covers and look for aftermarket piston, basket, rod, reeds, flywheel weight etc. Might give a small indication of mods/maintenence.

Stock mufflers say for closed course only, there way of saying it does not have a sparkarester. Kustom Kraft is now in Colorado and they repair cylinders. I think your bike had a mikuni but not sure witch one, the old flat slide that didn't have a idle screw was a good carb. I had a 82 and 83 RM250, in there day they were great bikes. A friend of mine had a 87 but that was in 87 and I remember it to have been a good bike. Good luck Ed
