so what is the deal with the permit issue. i was out riding on them last weekend with a guy who has been riding them his whole life and when i asked about the permits he had no clue what i was talking about. i dont mind paying the 100 for a permit, but i dont have my dirt bike registered or insured. and to register my bike with the dcnr i would need to show a bill of sale showing that i payed taxes on the bike, which i bought from a guy though a classified ad. so i cant get it registered. i have talked to some others who have been riding the rac lands with out permits and haven't had any problems. Do i really need the permit?

No you don't need one. Just hope I don't see you and turn you in!
Look, for 20 some odd years I have had my bikes registered and insured. It isn't that hard to do. As a dirt bike rider you cannot get DCNR registration anyway, it is only available for ATV's. All you need is liability insurance. It should cost about 80 for the year. 180 to ride wherever? Cheap at twice the price.
