I sincerely doubt that boos will take RC off his game. Indy will just serve to motivate him.

I taped it, and watched it over and over, sometimes in slow motion. Ricky did not bump Travis at all; his wheel never touched Travis's bike. The only contact was Travis's left handlebar hit Ricky's right handlebar. It forced Travis's wheel to turn full lock left, and he went down. There was not even a first bump, and the talk about a second bump is nonsense.

Travis went wide and left the door open for RC. Ricky dove in, and Travis tried to knife back down to close the door. Ricky was on the brakes, and almost came to a dead stop. He almost crashed himself. Travis swooped right down on him and Travis's handlebar clipped Ricky's. It was not an intentional take-out, just aggressive racing. Ricky put himself on the inside line to block TP, and TP tried to cut him off and paid the price.

Watch the tape.

JMD, 100 and 10 percent right on the money! All the other RC took out TP stuff is a bunch of crap. That was a completely normal racing situation/incident.

after watching that race I think RC should be banned from AMA racing for ever, he was trying to kill Travis for sure, travis is lucky to be alive. RC was trying to kill him cause he wanted to win. RC is the devil on a bike.

Maybe RC should have just sat there and patiently waited while TP picked up his bike, started it and was no longer in the way. Hey, better yet, RC could have got off his Honda, leaned his bike on the tuff block, helped TP pick up his bike, make sure he was on his way and then continue his pursuit. What's up with this "Let's stop this nasty and dangerous behaviour before someone gets hurt...hugs and kisses for everyone" crap? If you were there, there is no way you could see what happened. You just booed cuz everyone else did. You need to look at the TV replay to see what really happened. Tired of the WAHHH, WAHHH's. :mad:

I have to say that that was one of the best races I've ever watched. RC just out-smarted Travis, and schooled him a little bit about riding with the big dogs. It's more than just going fast. I loved Vuillemin's pass as well. I don't know who started the nonsense about RC thinking the race was over a lap early, but that was clearly not the case. DV just set RC up, waited, and struck when RC went wide on that right-hander. It was a beautiful thing.

Unlike last year, there are about five or six riders all running close to the same pace, and any one of them could win. It's great racing.

MC looked good in the heat race, though he slowed in the main. I think he's getting back in shape, though, and if he can keep from getting hurt, I think he'll win at least one main this year, just to add a cusion to his all-time total, as if he needs it. Nobody is going to come close to 72 wins for a long time, if ever.

RC is the only rider who makes amends when he gets over aggressive. I suppose most forgot his move on Mc last year then he pulled over and let Mc have the lead back. He is the only rider I have ever seen do that. I can tell by the posts who races and who watches.

Has RC even won a race on that Honda? If it's a mater
of just knocking guy's down to win just givum boxing gloves
and let them go at it. RC's having a hard time keeping (his)
pace on the honda and has to do what he has too, the guy
isnt happy in any position but first. That's just the way it is,
his goal is to win the race and Travis was in his way at the time.

Mark, mark; Is everyone in Bogalusa as goofy as you? Has RC even won a race on the Honda? Maybe before you comment any further, you should watch a couple of the races, or at least read the reports afterward. if you're not careful, you're going to give pointy-headed backwoods cretins a bad name.

The Leprechaun may have "schooled" Pastrana over that (I just didn't like it because I didn't want to see RC in the lead! :debil: ), But I think TP will be repaying it. I was looking for TP's first win, though, and he was making RC look really bad! I don't remember who said it through this thread, but RC is no longer the fastest man on the track.

And as for schooling, that lanky frog David V is the master! Heck, even a total Team NTACer like me could see him setting up RC for almost 5 laps. That was the best, greatest, awesomest pass so far this year! And on the last lap no less!

The Cobra just moved up on my "good guy" list! :cool:

Pastrana is not crying about it. Why the heck are you spectators crying about it? RC is racing, thats what he gets paid to do. Thats why he gets paid the most money out of all those Supercross racers. If you cannot handle the harsh realities of racing, stick to trailriding and fouling plugs.
Did I throw some fuel on the fire?

After reading all the forums last
sunday morning and then finally seeing the race, there wasn't even an incident to be talking about, what happened is that Prastrana learnt a big leason, do not leave the door open, especialy when you are racing guys like RC, DV, etc. Best race I have seen in a long time. And every body sure has turned on RC since last year. I don't know about you guys, but he is still the same guy, I don't think I have ever seen The Flying Freekle II take any body out deliberatly. I can't say he is my favorite racer, but he is one of the best.

I think it is stupid that we condone all this "it's just racing" crap do any of you guys out there that "run over guys huhuhu" win? no because rather than getting around your compition you'd rather go through them! some of you out there may be faster than me but you could still be a lot faster so rather than blowing through people you should work on your skills so that you can get around them!

I was at the race and sitting just a few rows up right at the turn that this incident happened at. I have to say that I was embarrassed to be in that crowd. The booing that took place was absolutely uncalled for. That was a legitimate pass and RC did just about everything he could to avoid it. TP initiated the move that caused the contact. He started on a outside line and dipped back in at the last instant. RC was right on his tail and went for the inside. Completely legit. RC is not my favorite rider but he is definitely one of the best and most ethical on the track. We fans have to also remember that he is one of the reasons this sport is as popular as it is and continues to gain popularity. This kid has been booed at almost every venue he has been to this year (since the Open). Everyone resents that he left Kawi and went to Honda. One question for you guys, How long did you keep you last job? Also, why aren't you booing Lusk, Roncada, Fonseca, Ramsey, and the list goes on. Did everyone boo MC at every event after switching from Honda to Yamaha? I don't think so. RC was with Kawasaki for a long time, it was time for a change. People need change to motivate themselves. Even if it was for money (I don't personally believe it was) that is the number one reason to move on. These guys make their living from this sport. RC deserves to be where he is. So everyone should get off there soap box (since I currently stand on it) and enjoy this season. It is turning out to be one of the most competitive in quite a while. That 250 main was undoubtedly the best race of the season.

OldManIn, Well said, it's nice to know there are peolpe that get it, If Travis thinks it was dirty, which I gaurantee he doesn't, he'll return the favor, but it wasn't and he won't!

If you look close, ( didn't record it, so I only saw what they showed) Travis popped out of the inside rut, RC saw the inside open, dove for it,was in the rut, Travis tried desperately to turn tighter and gas it to close the door ON RC, Travis was under full power trying to cut in front of RC when he cliped RC's throttle hand which turnd his bars to the left which caused his back end that was on flat ground to slide out to the right and high side, and you can see RC slamming on the brakes right before Travis hit him to try and avoid a collision and take them both out. If Travis wouldn't of hit RC, he would have retained the lead by cutting RC off on the exit of the turn no question. I've been in that ecxact spot ( both spots) several times, neither one did ANYTHING wrong in my book, part of racing is sticking your front wheel in on someone when they make a mistake to let them know your there which they then shift to defensive mode trying to protect the inside on all the turns, which makes it possible to set them up down the road because you know they are going to be on the inside protecting it on all the corners, and that plays in your favor when you KNOW what they are thinking. I think when Travis popped out, RC made a split decision to see IF he could get by right then, but Travis made a quick recovery and was not going to give up, so RC slammed on the brakes to avoid them hitting because he knew there was no way Travis was going to let off and give up, but at the very least he would put Travis in the defensive mode, and all this within in about 2 seconds, not alot of time, it all happens naturally or by instinct at that point.

but did you see Ricky save it in the whoops? He was nearly 90 degrees sideways at one time and still kept it right side up. He may not be my favorite either but that kid can ride!!! :cool:
After watching that race it looked somewhat blatant on the TP run down but after reviewing the tape I changed my attitude. Ricky had as much right to that line as TP did and had the momentum. Travis just swung back into it. That's unfortunate. Lesson learned for TP, you can be sure. He will be back and I don't think he's the kind of racer who will be looking to park RC onto the stands. I think he will use it as a reminder that he has to ride smarter. I honestly think he is the fastest rider out there, he just needs to keep his head in the game. Maturity will see him on the top podium very soon. :)
I couldn't help but admire the way Cobra stalked RC, set him up and then executed.:cool:
Man, everyone needs to get off the box, enjoy the show and be glad it's not a 1 or even 2 man contest anymore.

Wow, a bunch of us were all sitting together and didn't know it! I was directly above that corner in section 108, row 26. I originally thought RC dove in and tried to plow through Travis. I was angry. I guess the more I thought about it and after seeing RC's expression when Davey was interviewing him on ABC (this was after the massive booing), I had a change of heart. Nobody deserves what that brutal Indy crowd handed RC. That will not bode well on ESPN2. It's embarrasing for our sport. I do hope it will encourage RC to think about a few things and make a concerted effort to win back the fans. I don't know what it will take at this point but I sure hope he can pull it off. I've never been an RC fan but I'm pulling for him on this one.
