On medern dirt bikes we have hscd and lscd that allow us to set how the bikes respond to different impacts with a fairly high level of success. The problem that I have rpeatedly run into is getting the rebound damping set so that I can have control in "slippery rock gardens" and still rage thru the whoops w/o getting bucked or if I get the bike to "flatten" the whoops, the bike performs poorly in the rocks. Am I doing something wrong or is it still a compromise on rebound? NOTE, I have never got the suspension "just right".

I think the terrain you are riding is forcing the compromise you have-i would be surprised if anyone could get it to shine in both areas.Decide which one(terrain) you spend most of the time in and valve for that.
