I took out the reed valve yesterday and noticed 2 out of 3 were not sealed at alll. I don't know a whole lot about them but the manual says to turn the reeds around, this makes sense. I have been having a few problems withj the bike idle wise(high) How much do the valves change things if they are not sealed(duck billed)
Thanks

It will affect the bike idle and performance immensely. I suggest buying a new set. You will notice a difference. Replace them with Boyesens if you can.

I would only turn them around as a quick fix. Reeds tend to get brittle and will crack and chip.

Put new reeds in and you'll notcie you have more low end and it will start much easier.
