Remove & replace bezel on XR speedo/odo.

Has anyone successfully done this? The two internal screws came loose on mine, and they're rattling around in there. One approach would be to drill two holes directly over where they go, so I can take them out and screw them back in. Removing the bezel would be better cosmetically, but only if I don't trash it.
Anyone have any experience with this?

There is a spedometer/gauge shop in san mateo.
I forget their name but they can rebezel your speedo and recalibrate it too.
I used to work at a bmw shop and their speedos would shake apart all the time.
Try calling SF BMW, ask for tommy in m/c parts and ask him about speedo rework stuff.
