Renthal R3 Chain shortening

I'm going to put a new R3 O-ring chain on my KDX and heard I might have problems removing links on the Renthal chain. Do they need to be ground off with a grinder or will a chain braker work? Thanks.

Yeah a real decent chain will give a chain breaker a hard time unless it is a pretty good one. Haven’t used Renthal having settled on DID so good luck.

If you give it a hit with a grinder first it will make things easier. You can also cut the plate on the other side of the chain so you only have to push the pin through one plate if you see what I mean.

I just received my Renthal R3 O-ring chain and I don't know how to use the 2 W-shaped clips/locks provided with the masterlink, can somebody help me out?
