I have a FMF turbine core II silencer on my bike. I repacked it for the first time the other day. When I had it apart, I seen the turbine located near the front end. How do you remove the turbine/spark arrestor device for cleaning and wrapping new packing around it? For now, I just repacked the main silencer body by wrapping the material around the inner tube. Next time, I would like to do the turbine area too.

Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Matt

I've never done a Turbine Core so I can't help with the turbine part. But as far as cleaning the S/A, yes, you want to make sure all the holes are open and clean. Otherwise it will rob power. Same thing with any of the perforations down the length of the silencer, where the packing wraps around. I've read of everything from oven cleaner to sharp taps with a hammer to break loose hard deposits. Just don't dent it up!
