Well, I have been able to use my new MSR gear this summer and everything passed with flying colors. I purchased all of the following and can highly recommend them all.
MSR Impact Shorts
MSR ISDE Pants
MSR System X Vented Pants
MSR System X Vented Jerseys
MSR RG2 Gloves
All the MSR gear is great stuff and you will not be dissappointed. I wear a pair of Asterisk Braces and never found that the pants bound up at the knees.
I did order the pants to basically match my waist size (had to get 34, but I am a 33) and found that the gear had plenty of adjustment to allow me to comfortably wear the pants.
Both pants have hip pads which makes the Impact Shorts a bit redundant, but my remaining gear does not. I consider the pads a real plus and used them on a couple of occasions on the rocks during a recent excursion.
