So I was hoping there were some people on this board from the Boise, ID area. Anyhow, I would like to get some info on some good single track up in the Idaho City area, can anyone help?

I've never ridden around Idaho City, but the Featherville , Baumgardner area south of there has a zillion miles of ST. Baumgardner campground is a popular starting point.

I don't get up to Idaho City too often so I can't be much help there. But I have ridden the Danskin Mountains / Black's Creek area a number of times and it has loads of great single-track trails. There's a good amount of variety in the difficulty of the trails, and many of them are marked/numbered so you can follow along on a forest service map.

Idaho City is where they hold an ISDE Qualifier each year, so there is a well developed trail system in the area. The best place to go to find trailheads is to go through Idaho City past the visitor center. About 1 mile out of town, turn right onto the dirt road just before the main road takes a hard left. There are actually two entrances to this dirt road, about 100 yards apart, so take your pick. You will be driving east on the dirt road about 1/2 mile when you drive across on old bridge. Just a little further, the road will split, so turn left. Drive another 200 yards and look to your left. You will see lots of trailheads. Park your rig, and start riding.

As a note, the South Hills just south of Twin Falls, Idaho also offers some GREAT riding. Another great riding spot in the trees is to go south to Murphy, Idaho, and take the old rabbit creek road to Silver City.

Here is my email address [email protected]. Send me an email, and I can help you find lots of trails to ride. Heck, we might even be able to get hooked up for a few rides this winter.

Sweet, I am getting the itch real bad to get out on some trail, I guess it's going to have to wait for a while still as it's gotten kinda cold.

Yep, getting a bit chilly out now. I went out riding Wednesday on the trails up above 8th Street in Boise. The temp wasn't too bad, but we were getting into snow on some of the higher trails. Made for some interesting riding! Was kind of fun as long as it wasn't too deep or packed and slick. For the next few months I'll probably be heading down to the Owyhees to ride unless they get snow there too.

Cool... thanks for the links!

I live in Portland, OR and go visit my brother in Boise to go riding. So far have only done Little Gem Cycle Park outside of Emmet, the 8th Street Trail, and some ORV area near Lake Lowell (?)

Way interested in finding/trying some new riding areas. Thanks! - ET
