Looking for riders who like to go out at least twice a month on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. I used to race all the time but haven't for about four years. Right now I'm just looking to establish or join a group of local experienced riders who like to ride frequently. Georgetown, Stonyford, Foresthill or Elkins Flat or??? :yeehaw:

I'm not sure if I fit the mold of experienced rider(experienced from crashes), but I'm up for a ride at Deer Creek soon. Could do 12-1, Sunday ride there or Elkins Flat. Bearfoot enduro is next Sun.

Hi, Kawadougie!
My boyfriend Buddy and I go riding twice a month also.
We go to Middle Creek, Stonyford, Foresthill and George Town.
I think the best way to meet people is to go to a Enduro event.
There are usually at least several DRNers entering the event, so check Enduro Forum before going. We are actually going to ride Bearfoot Family Enduro (about 50 miles) in Stonyford on this coming Sunday.

fremontguy, where is Deer Creek?

Mini, Deer creek is located off 108/Twain Harte. I can post directions if anyone is interested. I'm #17C at Bearfoot, with some other seasoned CERA members on same minute.

Welcome Kawidougie!

There are quite a number of Sacramento and NorCal riders on this forum so I am sure you will get plenty of invitations to ride! Justin and I try to ride as often as we can but with both of us working and with an 18 month old at home we don't seem to get out as often as we would like. We will be sure to keep you in mind, though. (We probably get out on average every other week or every 3 weeks but one of us usually has to take a day off work to get there)

Mini,

Deer Creek is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!! One of the most technical/ rocky places I have ever ridden! I am almost certain that it is even more technical that CLear Creek. They use to run a Nataional Enduro up there so there are plenty of trails to choose from. It is CLOSE to us so we tend to go there during the week for a day trip. If you are interested I will let you know when we will be going again. It'll probably be sometime in early December. What are you and Buddy doing for New YEars???

Thanks, Les and Karna!
I may have been to Deer Creek... .we were not familiar with the area, so I don't think we have ridden those trails you mentioned. I saw a bear on a trail, though. And yes, I would like to go there sometime if you can guide us.....we just can't make it on Dec. 1.

Kawadougie, fremontguy is a great person to go riding with. He loves riding and knows riding areas very well.

Kawadougie, Mini is right. Fremont guy is an excellent riding partner. He knows all the local riding areas very well. :worship: I think he has a side job with one of the timber companies because he manages to mark up several trees on each ride :p ;) :thumb:

Unfortunately for me I think he passed his bad ankle/knee twisting mojo on to me last time I rode with him at Middle Creek.......

You guys are a riot ;) Been branching out lately from my usual pine marking work. By etching rock faces, body blocking manzanita groves and scaring off oncoming riders with my arms  Mr. WR, almost time for another ride or what?

Kawadougie and Mojo_Rooster, did you guys have fun in Foresthill?

In last May I rode trail 5. I enjoyed the trail very much. But on the way back, I made a stupid mistake and fell into a water fall. My 230lbs KDX fell on my back. My face was half in the water, and I was in serious pain. :ugg: ......As the result I couldn't ride for 6 weeks after that.
Now I'm ready to go back there, and possibly trail 6 also!?!?

Can you give us a ride report?

Mini ;)

Hi Mini,
Yeah, I remember reading about your fall, hope you are doing better. I'm always impressed with women who ride. I wish that more did.
I met up with four guys all riding KTM 300s!! I believe it's some weird cult thing, but who knows?? All four are good, fast riders aged from about 20 to 40 years old. I was the geezer at 50. The day was perfect with cool temperatures and sunshine. Just enough moisture on the ground to keep the dust away. By the first 200 yards I knew I was going to have to haul butt to keep up with this crew. Thankfully, my KDX200 did great and I even led the group for a while. Some of the downhill switchbacks were a little dicey and the softball size rocks kicked your wheels off course here and there. At times the course was so much fun that you couldn't help but hoot and holler. You couldn't ask for a nicer group to go riding with and it looks like we are going to Rag Dump next Sunday. :yeehaw:

Kawadougie, thanks for the nice ride report!
Glad to know that you had a good time with those riders.
I feel the same way about the people who ride KTM.....(my boyfriend rides KTM450 and 300 so....hahaha!)

We and many DRNers will be riding Training Wheels in Foresthill on December 8, so if you get a chance (I imagine Family Enduro is too boring for you), please come and see us in the morning. 6 ladies from DRN just finished Bearfoot Family Enduro yesterday, and all of us are riding TW.

Have fun at Rag Dump!

Hi Mini,
As a member of CERA I will be there working the event. My wife and I will probably be at one of the checkpoints. Good luck and have fun! :)
