Is it possible to get a really good set-up for riding whooped out sand tracks and with a few turns of the clickers have an equally sweet set-up for intermediate / hard terrain?

If the bike is valved for sand riding, what type of terrain will it not work well in?

Hoodak,
A well designed valving system will work in sand quite well when enough extrernal compression and rebound are added.

Hoodak,
Jer is right about on about that plus you can easiely change fork-height and rear spring pre-load from sand to hardpack to help the handleing.
