second hand rims

Guys,

I have a 88 kdx200, with cracks that keep growing on the front wheel, around the spokes and the lips.
I know aluminium is prone to fatigue cracking, so should I avoid second hand rims even if they look OK??? :confused:

Are the rims of this era (DID style) know for cracking and should be avoided??

Not that I have heard of! I have heard of people over tightening their spokes though...
