Service Honda is a Honda dealership. They also manufacture the Service Honda 500AF as well as many other custom Honda's for the niche markets.

A honda bought at Service Honda (dealership in Hammond Ind) could be called a 'Service Honda'

Whta the tag to specific bikes is that a guy named AJ builds specialty bikes at Service Honda and they market them. The bikes go by a couple names But if you see CR500AF that is definately one of them.

Click their link at the top left column of this page and you will find all the info you need about Service Honda

Honda = top quality product.
Service Honda = the same top quality products and some SERIOUSLY cool specials with service and parts support that is unequaled.

only problem with Service Honda is that their bikes/quads are far more expensive than Honda's or any other brands. i think that the CR500AF is $8K :yikes: .

How can a CR500AF from Service be higher than anyone else? No one else makes one.
How would a CRF250 motor in a CR80 frame be price compared to anything Honda makes? There is a BOAT LOAD of R&D/Labor in making those custom bikes, of course they cost more than a mass produced stock bike.

Actually if you check the Hondas they sell are usually lower priced then any other dealer. It is their specialty bikes like the 500AF that is a bit higher but not much more then a 450F but they are one of a kind arm out of the shoulders masterpieces. No way to compare pricing with other standard lines of Hondas it would be like comparing a Ford Focus to a Ferrari

Service Honda is a full service dealership that specializes in OEM Honda parts.
and offering great pcricing on all of Honda motorcycles and ATVs.

we also speciaslize in building custiom off road bikes, our own models.

I guess to justify the price of a CR500AF..

Just think of the approximate costs of the new
CRF250R its made from.. ($5600?)
then add in the cost of a new CR500 engine?($3200?)
CR500 pipe and silencer made specificaly for that bike..($350?)
all the other Honda parts needed to build it to OEM, or above,
fit and finish standards, (roughly another $300)
the labor to modify the frame and all the other cnc billet, frame pieces and
such needed to make it properly.
and th elabor to build the bike.
(AJ loves to do it,, would do it for free i suppose, but needs to eat,
so i do actually get paid to build and weld them lol )

anyway you can see $8k of $9K is not out of line at all for
jus tthe parts list!
without factoring in labor at all.

The same goes for the other specialty bikes like the Junior.

*shrugs*

Methinks Service should drop the price of AFs so that AJ will eat a little less and get back to his "fighting weight" of 115 lbs!

It's something to see a 115 lbs "person" kickstart a 500 first time, every time. Hell, even with the exhaust plug I stuck in there it only took him 3 or 4...much less than the 15 or so (and much cussing) that it took Wardy!

It's even more amazing to see the little Tig Wielding Psycho ride the wheels off of it. :yikes:

And don't forget my stupid advise before the start,"just remember you can't flick it around like you do that cheater EGorr CR280"
I ate CROW on that one.
You should come over and I'll plug in that tape, a bowl of pop corn, it's a classic, Eddie Z doing the narration was a riot. :rotfl:
Wardy said that guy should be on TV, and speaking of Wardy remember when I let him race the 500 at Byron,"boy that bike is fast, stops on a dime, but I like my Maico better"
2 weeks later,"hey Bill mind if I race your bike again"
then D Thomas "man dont let him race your bike,he's fast enough on the Maico" :)

Man I let a ton of people ride and even race my CR500's over the years and in turn sold a lot of people on open class 2 strokes. Proved that most of the crap they heard was just rumor.Besides what were they gonna do, blow it up, not gonna happen, them things are anvils.I only remember 1 time turning someone down, it was my own son at Redbud, saying he couldn't carry enough speed on his CR250 to clear LaRocco's leap and wanted to do it on my 500. I said No.
