Shifting

My new bike (CR250) is a bit harder to upshift than my old RM80. Whenever I'm in 1st and trying to upshift to second, I either hit nuetral or stay in 1st gear. What can I do to help my shifting?

Is your shifter mounted too high? If you drop it one tooth, it might be easier for you to upshift.
