Hi, I was riding at a indoor track in quebec last weekend and was having problems with a jump. first let me tell you that this track was about 1/4 the size of an arenacross track, so everything is nice and tight. Anyway, there was this 15 ft double whose landing was about 2.5-3 ft long by about 1 ft high. What would be the smoothest way to land on this.? Everytime I landed front wheel on the landing I would case, and if I landed backwheel on the landing (which is what I was doing) my front wheel would land flat and I would bottom out, is there a smoother way of doing this?

Thanks

Whenever I run into these situations, I just get my nose lower, and jump it a little higher. This is a fairly common technique in supercross and arenacross racing. Your front wheel will already have rolled out onto the flat, when your back end is just touching down (because the landing is shorter than a bike length). You have to have your timing absolutely perfect, though. Match the angle of the bike with the angle of the landing, and just land the front end right at the top of the landing ramp, and just keep your bike at that angle until your back wheel has touched the ground.
