Anybody had their suspension shortened to compensate for "short man syndrome"? If so, who can do it and how much? How about chopping the subframe on the YZ? What other mods are required if I shorten the subframe?
instead of making your suspension shorter, add a couple inches to yourself. im 5'7 and i found i can make myself 5'10 by adding pieces of 2x4 to my boot soles. i look cool too. kind of like those famous rockers known as KISS. aw heck im just kidding. perform a search. several people on here have done it. rich and sarge are two that i can think of off the top of my head.
I've cut the subframe on my 02 YZ250 & also my 02 CR125. I took 5mm from each side just above where it bolts to the lower frame. This brings the back of the seat down approx. 15mm. I also took 1" of foam out of the seat. With these two mods I can at least touch the ground with one foot, and I am about 5'5".
