Side door axsess for air filter

Has any one done or thought about doing a side door air flter box mode, It wood be nice to clean the air filter with out having to take the seat off every time, just take off the side panle one screw unsnap remove panle and there she is, be simalier to the GAS-GAS set up. I have stared at it many of nights and thought about cutting the side out and making a rear movable door or plate the only thing stoping me is if I mess up does not fit right and have to buy a new air box ouch.

sounds like a great idea! Now you got me thinking about it. Might make a great winter project. If I come up with a design I'll let you know.

I think the late model KTM's have access to the air filter from the side. Looking at one of those should give you some idea's on how to do one for your bike. Good luck. YZ165

My old '84 KDX200 had lid to the airbox on the side, held on by three screws.
