Silencer repacking

I've got a PC Shorty 304 silencer and im afraid it needs to be repacked before my race this weekend and i ordered some repacking from the shop and it wont be in until monday....can i pack it with insulation? i have done it before on my 80 but i dont know how effective it was

If the packing is spooge soaked or blown out the instulation will help.

Being a home builder, I never use anything BUT house insulation (lifetime supply of free scraps). It'll be fine.
