I raced my first harescramble in the snow and ice it was fun. Put the studs on and rode like it was summer. They didn't have a mini class and we know the owner so he let me ride my KX100 in the 125 class. I got 2nd place and 14th overall for the day, not bad for only 12 and running 2 hrs with the big boys. My dad didn't have any studs and I lapped him twice;) I even passed him up a hill when he was laying there with his bike:p He'll have studs next race.

Good job! Snow races are fun--if you're prepared. I did one a year ago and didn't know that studs were allowed, so I didn't put them in. Man did I regret that. Dirtygirly and I got 3rd in the 125 class, and us both on beat-up XRs, just because only 3 teams finished the 3-hour race!

Congrats on your finish.

they allowed you to run studs in a race? At honda hills they wouldn't let anyone run studs for safety reasons, and they're supposed to be illegal in AMA competition (from what I've heard). Last year a guy showed up with his tires fully studded and they wouldn't even let him ride the course, he was frantically pulling screws and make it out halfway through the race I believe. Good job though, I didn't have quite as much fun in the icy HS at honda hills this season :ugg:

Yeah they even put it on the fliers to use studs. There are 4 more races up here if you want to try one were not that far from you
