I prefer this setup because if you hit something that you don't see at 60MPH the bike will leave the ground more level and have less of a chance of sending you over the bars. Its a safty factor for me. My friend and I hit the same rock at the some speed and neither of us saw it. I landed on my bike, he landed on his head.
