sold my cr, confused what to get next

hey whats up guys, this is my first on dirtrider.net i just sold my 99 cr125 and now i'm in the market for a used bike. i like the reliability of honda but performance wise is not up to par with me. my friends are telling me to go with yamaha and each day im leaning towards blue. i like the power of the pre-aluminum hondas such as the 95 cr125 but want something a little newer. how good are the 97 and 98 yz125's? what's the skinny on those two models? i have a chance to get a 95cr125, 97 and 98 yz125. what is your opinion fellas? thank you

Its gonna be all about the YZ for the killer bottom to mid motor with good top the CR might rev out alittle higher but with some minor tweaking the YZ will be right up with it. I would lean more towards getting the 98 YZ to get the newer blue style plastic the 97 had that dark color blue. Compared to say a 95 CR the YZ will have better suspension stock just cause it was setup better stock but the 97 CR 125 is different thats when honda finally got the forks right. The 97 might be more desirable than the 95 cause it also got bigger forks from 43mm's to 46mm's finally catching up to the YZ that got it the year before. Either way the bikes ya have listed will smoke the 99 CR in the motor area but the 99 probably has the better chassis.

Well I have allways had hondas for the last 15 yrs but my new bike that I will be geting in a few weeks will be a 02 yz 250 hope they last as long as the hondas did :) I rode a buddys a few months ago and liked it a lot so going to sell my 00 honda 250 and go blue.
