Well, got my son (11 years old and been riding a DT100 for 3 years) an 86 YZ80. It just got bored out and a Wiseco piston (2mm over), crank seals, so it's got a good engine, plastics are kind of ugly (better that way, so he doesn't destroy new plastic on the first crash), good seat, needs a front tire and a chain/sprocket set. Also included were a new rear tire, extra motor case, piston, all transmission gears, cylinder and head, misc parts and pieces...all for the bargain price of $350.
I found the sprockets/chain on **** for $35, looking for a good front tire, and should be running in a week or less. I plan on letting him get some seat time on it, then want to find a motocross/dirt riding school, I'm not exactly an expert, so he and I would both go (I ride a CR500) and learn some tips. Anybody know when/where they run one in Colorado? I've seen the ads before, but not lately.
