I bought a Rowe spoke wrench for my kdx200. This is a picture of it: http://www.sterlingmotorworks.com/inc/pdetail?v=1&pid=1147 . How tight does the wrench need to fit the spoke nipple? The nipples won't fit into the slot labeled "3" but seems a little loose in slot "2". Is this normal? I have several siezed spokes in the back wheel and would like to start with the right tool. I saw the Rowe spoke wrench listed in Eric Gorr's book about off-road motorcycle repair; it was listed one of the good examples.

Well - i bought the same wrench and it worked out very well for me. I too had seized spoke nipples. I ended up using a propane torch to heat up the nipples and they broke free pretty easy. They were solid before i tried the heat.

If i remember correctly i used the #2 slot. I also had to hold the spoke with a small pair of vice-grips to prevent the spoke from rotating while i broke the nipple free (after heat).

Nipples - just wanted to type it one more time? :)
