Does anyone have any suggestions on mounting my ICO computer on my YZF 250 with the Scotts steering dampner? The bike has Tag oversize bars with no crossbar and Acerbis Rally guards, and with the bar width cut down for trail boogie, I am at a loss for mounting it. :(

Any suggestions that you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

:) :) :)

I bought the mounting kit from ICO and it fits perfect. It lets you mount it below the h/bars or above them.Go to their web sight and look I think the kit is under $20.

I use the billet dashboard on my RM. It puts the ICO Procomp above the Scotts.

Thanks for the info on the ICO site. RM is that dashboard you mention from ICO? I am heading to their site now to see what I can find!:)

I use the dashboard from Baja Designs. I'm pretty sure they are the same.

Its real easy and costs no money, mount your Scotts backwards. Reverse the lever on the dampner. Then you can run the ICO above the dampner You can use the bracket supplied with the ICO

No Problem

The Scotts website has pictures :)

The main reason I use the dashboard is for protection.

If your not worried about protecting the computer you could use some flat stock from Home Depot.

one more thing.......

You will most likely need longer bolts for the clamps. They are not included with the billet dash.

OFFROADR

I am picking up my steering stabilizer tonight, bought it for $150.00, and am still trying to figure out exactly how to mount it backwards like you say. I am not at all familiar with them. I bought the bike from the guy in April and he kept the dampner, but now he's out of riding all together and I reap the benefits, but now I have to mount it and computer and all.

I had the top clamp on the bike already that the dampner mounts to, it was a perfect place to mount the ICO with the holes already in it. Just trying to get some ideas on how to mount all this hardware.

I am really interested in the backwards mounting that you mentioned and wondering if this can be done with the ICO case/dashboard.

Thanks again guys!

P.S. I have an old ICO odo/speedo free to a good home if anyone wants it. The case is a little damaged, but ICO says for about $50 the put it in a new case. This is free, 'cept you pay shipping!

If you go to the link that Offloader has provided,
just click on "Damper Photos"
then click on the "ATK 406" link & look closely at the damper.

I run a pacemaker but the principle is the same. Turning it around is really easy and by adding the scotts gaurd it makes a nice setup. I do not like that my computer sitts higher than the gaurd. I hope the ICO's do not do the same thing.
