I received my steahly flywheel weight today and when I go to install it, I discover that the flywheel nut is stripped out(hopefully its the nut and not the crank spindle). The nut will neither tighten or loosen, it just rotates like its going to tighten or loosen but it doesn't move in or out. Anybody got any ideas of how to get the nut off? I've tried using something to pry behind the nut while turning it, but to no avail :whiner: Any ideas would be appreciated.

If the flywheel puller will go on, you could try pulling the flywheel some, to put pressure on the nut. It could take a few tries.

If you can get vise grips on it, try pulling while turning, to catch good thread.

Last resort - chisel it off.

Thanks for the reply wanrep. I have tried a wheel puller but there's no room to get anything on the nut. I have a pair of needle nose vice-grips, so I'll try that. If that don't work, I guess I'll have to go with the chisel.
