Subframe Cutting

I've read where some people have cut their subframe to lower the bike. Can someone explain to me how it is done?

I have lowered my subframe but i did not have to cutt it I just made the mounting holes oblonged and it lowered it 5mm at the hole and about 15mm at the rear fender.

Sawzall.

Cut it and reweld it. Or if it's aluminum (and you can't weld it), put a "blank" inside and bolt it back together. The blank will prevent the walls from collapsing when you tighten the bolt.

By the way.. it doesn't lower the bike, only the seat. And it will lower from the rear forward!

BTW off topic -just watched san diago, reeds bike seizedin the qual, then in the main his brakes go out-not sure i would feel happy with that!!
