I am just starting to get in shape for MX. I am just starting to lift weights as well as starting to run. I plan on working out (lifting) Monday thru Thursday then running Friday, Saterday and Sunday. Do you recommend taking any type of supplements to help biuld strength/endurance? If so what type? Are there any negative side effects of taking supplements? Thanks

A well balanced diet
A quality multi-vitamin
Omega-3 fatty acids like flax seed oil and fish oil
A quality protein mix,or a protein meal replacement pack.

These are just the essentials your body needs to operate at a "optimum performance."

I also suggest (as always) a book called "Body For Life" bu a guy named Bill Phillips.He does push HIS supplements in the book,but he has some very good diets and exercise plans.
