suzuki rm 80 kick starter stripped

do you have to split the case to get kick starter shaft out? if so any help, never done it and cant find a repair manual. thanks this is an 1982 model

Don't think so, just take the right hand cover off that the kickstarter protudes through, you should have enough room then to change the shaft.
