I've got my swingarm off while I replace all the bearings in the linkage and swingarm. I want to take the opportunity to either paint it or have it sandblasted and polished. If I were to paint it, should I use a paint stripper first? Then, do I need to put a primer on it? Which Kind? Then what tipe of paint do I use for the final coat? I want it to look sliverish like the stock look. Should I put on a clearcoat? Which kind? Thanks for any advice you can give.

i just had mine sandblasted and powdercoated. check mygallery. happy with it so far and very durable. if you do have it coated make sure the shop knows not to burn it. its aluminum and can deform if they burn it.
(they should know this or i would take it somewhere else.) also make sure they protect all the place where the bearings go.

if you aren't in a great big hurry you can have them keep it until they are running something else in the color you want. probably save you a setup fee.

i had my frame done and it only cost $25 extra to have the swingarm blasted and coated.
