Ive noticed a new trend starting in pro motocross. a few riders, most notably kyle lewis, have been using a devise that bolts onto the rear axle, and it extends past the end of the swing arm. Supposedly, they help the bike through rough and choppy sections. I was wondering what the theory behind this was....i mean...are they a cheating way to get around a suspension problem? and how heavy do you suppose these things wouldnt be? it seems to me any weight on the swing arm is gonna help traction because it acts as a quicker rebound setting, letting gravity pull the wheel back to the dirt. any ideas? thanks
