tail light wiring after MX fender install?

Is there anything special that needs to be done after removing the tail light and stock fender when you install the MX fender? I was just planning on putting some electrical tape on the wire connections. What have you done if you made the switch to the MX fender?

That'll work just fine. It's no different than running with a burned out bulb!
