Hi guys. Im new to this forum but i hope you guys can help. I have brought a 2011 kx85 to strip down and do up. I am trying to make my mind up if i can strip the paint off the standard pipe and get it to the bare metal or if this is a bad idea. The pipe has gone rusty in spots and doesn't look very good so if i could get it to the bare metal without any problems that would be perfect. Hope you guys can help. Thanks

You could leave it bare metal, I did that with an old dg pipe back in the day, It gives it a "works" bike look. Just be sure polish it up, and after riding it coat it with wd-40. When it gets rusty, use a scotch brite pad, and coat it with wd-40. It will ok...Unfinished Works bike pipe that Jeff Ward used in 88, 52 hp engine at the flywheel...
