Q. Are Talon Hub/Excel Rim combo's put together to work with a specific brand of bike, or can a one wheel work with any brand?

Q. If they are bike specific, can they be easily modified to fit a different brand?

The Talon hubs are machined to take the stock sprocket & rotor for the given application

Easily? sometimes yes, sometmes no.

If you take a look at RAD or Excel hubs, they are designed to be modular. You purchase a wheel, then the "fit kit" for the bike in question. Later on down the road, if you switch brands, you may purchase the fit kit for the new bike.
