Thanks Ladies

Hello, Im just dropping in to give a personal thanks to Lori and Squeeky.
My girlfriend has really been getting stoked to go riding and has been improving slow but steady. She came to meet us at the last DRN ride and the girls were super cool and encourging. Lori even talked her into riding Paragon for the first time, and while she did not want to ride in a group, it was still a big thing for her and she loved it and had a blast. We also covered alot of ground and she only spilled the bike twice.
Squeeky also let her ride her brand spanking new TTR 125L in the lot to compare it to her bike.
So anyway, she was so excited, I even got her to put down some $ when we got home and she now has a brand new pair of riding boots to replace her tired work boots. She got a set of riding pants, a Jersy and a set of MX gloves and she looks great, but more important, I feel alot better about her safty. We put a few bucks into her bike again this year too. I replaced the rear fender with a new one and hit it with some paint. Well, she liked it so much she sanded the bike and I painted the whole thing including the lower fork legs since I was rebuilding the forks anyway. I made up a set of bark busters for it to help protect her hands too. One of the two spills she caught her finger under the bar end when it went down and bruised her finger nicley, scarry thing for a massage theripist.
So now the bike looks great, we both had fun working on it together, and she has the right gear and looks great too :aj: .

Ah, good to hear it Jason! I didn't want to be too pushy, but I thought she might need a little nudge in the right direction.

Now, the big question-- are we going to see both of you at Paragon on August 6th and 7th?!

Great news Jason! The bike looks AWESOME! Glad I could help!!

It's awesome to hear that you got her in the all the right gear too, that definitely helps. I remember my work boots, 1980's Papakeith helmet, jeans, and sweatshirts from when I first started riding...not very safe at all!

Like Lori said, you guys WILL be at Paragon...riiiiiiight????

Ahhhh, more DRN goodness spread 'round the world!!

She did not make it up for the ride, but her bike did :aj:. I took it out for a 40 minute little rip to make sure every thing was sorted out :) . I'm glad I did, it needed a few adjustments and the clutch plates had stuck together, the little 100cc bike nearly bucked me off when I dropped it in 1st and it just took off! I ran it up in to third holding the clutch in and reving it untill it broke loose. I wonder if some of the plates may still be stuck? I should maybe pop the pack apart and check them out. Anyway, that little bike rips. I just wish it had some more travel in the rear end, I made the mistake of sitting down on a climb with a square face rock on it and boy it spanked me right out of the seat :ohmy: . Anyway the bike is good to go and Kerry is very excited to ride.

Street Bike Go for launch

I know this is not a dirtbike thing, but I just wanted to share with you gals my excitment. Kerry finally got her tag for her street bike after 3 years since she bought the road bike she begged for.
The bike is a very cool 73 Yamaha RD 250 2 cyl 2 stroke. It needed some work but overall was in excellent condition. Still the challenges of gettig an older points fired 2 stroke road worthy were a challenge but I do enjoy working on bikes so it was a labor of love. She tolde me this spring she wanted to get it on the road this summer and I had 90% of the work done just waiting for her to get it insured and a plate to finish the details. Well this week she told me she was going to get it done and I got the bike squared away.
Last night as I was finishing up the odds and ends she came home with the plate. We stuck it on and I told her to put on her helmet for a victory lap around the block! she was all smiles and so was I. Im totally stoaked to do some back road touring and helping her hone her skills from dirt to street. Oh and I took the bike into town today for some chores and what a blast that lightweight ballzie bike is from a standing start! Gotta love those old 2 stokes....
