Me too, Squeaks. I miss the midwest crowd and the rides at Wardy's.

Make a big skillet of breakfast in honor of better vanished times.

YAY! The engine arrived TODAY! A day early!

Rich is a guy from a different era. As GH pointed out he treats others as he would like to be treated. Going the extra mile isn't something he chooses to do, it's just part of who he is. Posts like this just prove up that all the crybabies that think Rich is a big meanie are just thankless self centered crybabies without a clue.

It's still as true today as it was a week ago, so I see no point in changing what works. ;)

Thanks Dave! According to Rich it shouldn't take very long to do - so Rooster and I are going to attempt to tackle it tonight ( I called him at lunch time so he knew what he'd be doing tonight  )

Squeaky if you have a Yami shop near by and they have a swingarm pivot and nut (as well as SA bearings) I'd suggest picking one up. That always seems to be the biggest PITA to remove when pulling an engine.

they should be okay, Pat, cuz the TTR doesn't use the engine as a pivot. Don't have to pull the swingarm.

I guess I'll head over there and supervise. Damned kids already roached one TT-ahhh engine, no sense letting them trash another doing the swap.

PK - When you have the carb off the old engine, take a close look at the stock intake port versus the intake on the "new" engine. ;)
The "new" engine also has 24 ounces of flywheel removed, so it should be a TAD livelier as well. :ride:

question for you Rich. Are the tranny gears just weak on the tt-ahh, or is there some other likely suspect that would have played into their early demise?

Once I pop the blowed up engine apart I'll have a better answer, but I haven't seen anything in these engines that points to a huge issue looking for a solution.

It's nothing you did Squeaks. My guess when you crashed it might have bent a shift fork or hurt a gear dog. It's part of riding last time I checked.
