We had our firewood in the garage this winter, (my idea,:think ), and now that it's almost gone I can actually work on the bikes!

Elk--Jr. and I will be going to Adelanto G.P. this Sat., but he's improving, so he may be at the next ride. He still doesn't have a Sparky yet though, so we're thinking Barstow/El Mirage for the next one.

Solution #l. Sounds like lots of these ladies have lots of idle time. Don't they have jobs?

After a week of full time work, they don't want to be anywhere near your garage. They want to come home and relax, sleep, rest, and they'll gladly send you away into your garage to do important things like safety wire grips and levers.

Solution #2. For over 30 years I have named my dirt bikes after my wife. She seems to find solace in the fact that I'll be out in the garage working on her namesake. Or maybe it's just a better place to be than on some bar stool somewhere. "Just out in the garage with my Monica's, dear,..."

Of course I do get a little smirk when I say: I'll be out for a little while-- riding Monica.

Monica's sleeping soundly now....a hard day at the office as a professional woman will do that to you. Makes big bucks, too. Course, I have to do all the cooking and cleaning. But that's understood when I work out of our home every day. But she's welcome in my garage anytime.

Gotta get back in the roomy 3-car bay now and prep my little Monica for the midnight ride...

With all the bad (read inexperienced) maintainence this
XR 185 has had, it too should be thrashed. But it runs great. I'll never sell it. And still enjoy riding it. I actually bought this bike new--nobody wanted it; it sat in the showroom for two years. I'd like to buy another, or more accurately, a 1981 to 1991 XR 200R, Honda's improved replacement.

I like the bike naming thing but I tried a different approach and numbered it with her birthday. That didn't last for long!

Man!
I knew I was lucky, but now I feel EXTREMELY blessed! I designed and built our house, and she knew from the beginning that the garage was MY space. She's got her formal dining room and her dream kitchen, so she's happy. She gets to park her Z28 in there and that's it. The rest of the 1000 sq. ft. garage is for my Camaro('69), the truck, mower, 3 bikes(at the moment), work bench and sink. I'm fixing to have a 5 car garage sometime this year that she can't touch either. I'm in the process of starting a Wheel and Tire business and will have 3200 sq. ft. of garage space with tire changers, lifts, and all the tools I could need. I think I'm more pumped about getting to use the garage than making money with it.:think

I do have to add that we have two studies in our house. Her's and mine. Well, actually she has about 1 3/4 studies and I have 1/4. She also has 300 sq. ft. of attic space above our garage. That's a trade off I can live with though.

I think I should add, we've only been married for abot 3 1/2 years, so it could go down hill...

After reading

I have the same problem with my office. It's the same at work and at home, it seems that it always ends up a storage room for everyone else. My garage is not a problem.

Sounds like most of you boys are wipped.

I have my spot in the garage for my stuff and my wife has hers. I also tell her if I don't like something she wants or wears, and she does the same.

For gods sake stand up for yourselves!

keep garage locked

24 by 36 garage that my wife isnt allowed in,harley dirt bikes and 66 chevy belong inside and her taurus can stay outside with my truck.its simple if you dont give her a key to the garage.

My luck, she won't give me a key to the HOUSE! I can't stand it anymore, the garage is full of pre garage sale stuff right now. Can't wait for next Saturday, garage sale day! I'll get my space back, I think.

Garage repossesor

My wife managed to fill the closets in all four bedrooms, the overhead storage in the garage, the laundry room and two hall closets with nothing but her clothes and shoes. Then she started creeping into the garage, stacking boxes of winter/fall clothes, shoes and that horrible "home interiors" decorator stuff. then she decided she needed to be a tupperware dealer, that filled two of the bedrooms themselves! Then one day she said "I'm going to sell Mary Kay products", I said "I'm going to light this place on fire if you do". I couldn't even walk through the garage at this point, and the house was just as bad.


I got a garage reposessor (a.k.a. a divorce). Now I have a two- bedroom house with a double attached garage and it's just me and the dog. One bedroom is totally empty as is the basement. Life is good.:aj:

My wife is just now getting started with Mary Kay. I'm lucky though. Her mother is going into it with her and she is keeping all the stuff at her house.:silly: My father in law is tickled, though.:debil:

Sharp, you are so right! I'm proud that I got back my cold, hard, concrete floor space with all my tools and junk! I think I'm gonna be sick now.

And about garage sales, what the hey! Some lady came up to me and yelled because my signs were not posted correctly and she couldn't read them. Then another lady came up and chewed me out cause the 5 clams I was asking for some shoes was too much. She told me that this was a garage sale, and I said that I'm aware of that now get the hell off my driveway!
I posted the start time as 8am, but noooooo, that wasn't good enough. I had the idiots climbing in my garage at 6!! What a bunch of freaks! Another lady got her car stuck in the front of my driveway cause it broke down. Could she park in the street like everyone else, NO, the dang thing took a poop right in the middle of the driveway! I pushed her outta the way and continued my happy sales:)

My husband told me about this thread a while ago and I just finished reading all of it! Now I know why he spends so much time on the computer. I was thoroughly entertained! :) This stuff was hilarious! Just when I was getting to the end, Ryd and Elk had me in stitches again.

man, the garage is the mans space, and if comprimise is a compoment of the relationship, build her a shed, or get her to pay for a storage unit. Hell, I call the shots here, I respect her, but I pay for it...
