I'm starting to believe the curse is real.
Team Suzuki Rider Brian Gray Out for Remainder of AMA Supercross Season
- press release -
BREA, Calif. – (Jan. 26, 2004) – American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) today announced that Team Suzuki factory rider Brian Gray has broken his right arm and will not compete in the remaining rounds of the 2004 AMA Supercross Series.
Gray broke both of the bones between his wrist and elbow in an unfortunate get-off on the first lap of his heat race in round four of Supercross on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, in San Diego, Calif. Gray, the AMA’s 2003 Rookie of the Year for Supercross/Motocross, was campaigning the 125 West series aboard the 2004 Suzuki RM-Z250.
“The bad news is that his arm is broken,” said Suzuki Team Manager Roger DeCoster. “The good news is that it’s a clean break. Brian should be ready to race again by the time the Nationals start. He’s a tough kid and should recover pretty quickly. In the meantime, Suzuki is going to focus its 125 efforts on the upcoming East Series.”
Gray underwent surgery today and is expected to make a full recovery. He will resume racing with the onset of the 2004 AMA/Chevy Trucks 125 U.S. Motocross Championship Series in May.
