hey guys,
just recently got my carb rebuilt and i am putting it back on the bike. how do i put the throttle spring back in the carb properly? ive been compressing the spring then lowering it into the carb but that just lets me twist the throtle with no resistance.
help please! thx,

The spring goes between the top cap and the slide assy. You can always go to bikebandit.com or yamahaoftroy.com and look at the fiche to get an idea of how to assemble things. Better yet, get a service manual and it will answer most of your questions.

2 ideas, 1) Did you attach the throttle cable to the slide properly? If not the cable goes down through the center of the spring and cable retainer and hooks to the slide, then the spring with the cable retainer is lowered into the slide, note there usually is a protrusion on the retainer ring that fits into the same notch the cable slid into, this prevents the cable from coming unhooked from the slide. 2) Did you install the slide into the carb. properly? I think your slide has a notch that must be aligned with a protrusion in your carb. in order for it to slide all the way to the bottom of the air inlet.

ok i still have no clue how to put my throttle spring assembly back in the carb properly. i didnt take apart the throttle spring or anything so its still all together perfectly i just dont know how to put it back in the carb the right way. i dont want to go out and buy a manual just for this.
